OVERVIEW OF HEARING LOSS IN TODAY'S SOCIETY

Over thirty four million Americans in our society are hearing impaired, yet only four out of ten people with hearing loss seek help for improving their ability to communicate.

In past generations, hearing loss was considered an affliction that befell only the very elderly, and it was thought that very little could be done to help it.  Things have dramatically changed in recent times.  According to the MarkeTrak VIII survey, 60% of hearing impaired people today are below retirement age, indicating that it can happen to anyone at any age.  At the same time,  technological advances in the industry have made hearing aids tremendously more effective, and almost stylish!
